Hansel & Gretel: The REAL Story
Hawaii Theatre Center
March 8 and 9
Saturday, March 8 at 7:00pm, and Sunday, March 9 at 2:00pm
Since The Brothers Grimm first published the story of Hansel and Gretel in 1812, this German folk tale has been told and retold in many different ways. Broadway veteran and HTC Guest Director Peggy Anne Siegmund brings a delightful new twist to the story with her ingenious adaptation of this popular story for youngsters in grades preK-8.
Hansel & Gretel: The REAL Story comes to the Hawaii Theatre on March 8 and 9 as part of Hawaii Theatre Center’s OHANA! Series for young audiences. With a terrific cast, magic spells, witty narration, audience participation and, of course, a surprise ending for the resourceful siblings, we’re sure the grown-ups will be as enchanted as the kids with this new twist on a 200-year-old tale.
Public OHANA! performances are on Saturday, March 8 at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday, March 9 at 2:00 p.m. Tickets are $5, $7 and $10 (including Theatre restoration fee). Children under age 4 are FREE. Call the HTC Box Office at 528-0506 or visit www.hawaiitheatre.com
School matinee performances are on March 5, 6 & 7, 2014. Tickets are $5 per student and chaperone; with every group of 20 students, one teacher receives free admission. School reservations are available by calling the Hawaii Theatre school reservation line at 791-1310.
